Large-armed Prince Golgotha (Korean: 거완의 왕자 골고타) is one of Constructor Luke's children and the twin brother to Iron-armed Princess Kalbarri who has inherited his father's dark energy.

Lore

Destroyed Castle of the Dead Lore Exerpt:

In Heblon, I was always a flawed son, an inadequate prince. The king was disappointed that his son wasn't born as a whole as everyone had hoped, and his subjects raised voices of concern.

My sister, who was my other half, was happy staying under her father's shadow, but I wasn't. I felt cornered by my own inner darkness as well as his shadow. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't satisfy him with my halved power. Father never openly blamed me or even showed any of his unhappiness with me, but as time passed by, I sensed his anxiety and impatience. My inner darkness took greater hold of me.

When he disappeared, I thought I finally had a chance to prove my power. Heblon needed my power of darkness to keep the balance between light and darkness. How arrogant of me to have thought that I could ever replace my father?

I've been locked up in darkness, the dark prison that I'd created on my own. No one blamed me. No one was left to blame me, except for my sister, Kalbarri.

It was I, who had been pushing myself deep into the silent darkness, which has become my own fortress. Now, I'm determined to protect Kalbarri and myself against everything that threatens us. It's the only thing I can do in this darkness, anyway.

Appearances

Golgotha originally made his boss debut inside Luke Raid in the Altar of Strength (Or Altar of Light normally) dungeons if one party took the Light Route during Phase 2. He mostly shares the same attack patterns with Kalbarri. He would be brought back as Golgotha of Darkness in Destroyed Castle of the Dead.

Move Set

  • Nightmare Gauge: Golgotha's main pattern. When his fight begins to play out, this gauge slowly increases over time and when it reaches 100%, this will activate his Berserk.
  • Teleport: Golgotha constantly teleports around the map either in front of or behind players to either use a Shockwave Punch, or Rapid Fists.
  • Fist Slam: Golgotha slams the ground with his gauntlets within a AoE range. Although identical to his Luke Raid attack, this version can inflict a Poison (Status).png Poison (Status) if anyone is in the circle.
  • Dark Sphere: Using one of Luke's patterns, Golgotha summons a volley of Dark Energy Spheres and throws them at players, leaving an encroached damage field on the ground after landing.
  • Dark Laser Blast: If he successfully tracks down anyone, he'll go airborne to strike down at the floor, then proceeds to charge up while pulling them in a close range to fire out a laser shot.
  • Prophecy: Essentially his own version of Caligo Luke's Tracking Laser, he'll cast down a Dark Laser Beam that chases after a player, the only difference is that they'll have either a Light Eye or Shadow Eye above their head that acts like a timer when it slowly shuts closed, and in order to clear this pattern, there are two satellites on the ground which only one can be picked up that forms a shield around them:
    • Players with a Shadow Eye must pick up the Shadow Satellite.
    • Players with a Light Eye must pick up the Light Satellite.
If done correctly before the eye closes three times in total, nothing will happen. Failure to do so causes the Eye to lift up a player with a dark blast exploding underneath, either resulting in lethal damage or an instant kill.
  • Leaked Nightmare: Golgotha gets into the middle and summons either various Light or Shadow Eyes on the floor. Players must pick up a Satellite of the matching color and collect those eyes within a timer gauge limit, otherwise failing to do so can result in getting immobilized, as those eyes immediately tracks down a player's location and forms into a laser below that instantly kills them. On Expert-Master difficulties, more eyes and both colors can randomly spawn.

Berserk:

  • Golgotha's Nightmare: When the Nightmare Gauge reaches 100%, Golgotha will form a protective shield around him with it's own HP bar, and in order to break it, players must follow his instructions to successfully clear the pattern. Each time he gets ready to perform his prophecy through dialogue, larger Light and Shadow Eyes are summoned underneath that fires out waves of lasers depending on which pair appeared first, then a Red Eye appears below Golgotha's shield, alongside a "A Nightmare rolls in" casting gauge. He will say these words:
    • Look into the nightmare! - Look at Golgotha.
    • Don't look into the nightmare! - Look away from Golgotha.
    • Move into the nightmare! - Stay within the Red Eye.
    • Move away from the nightmare! - Stay out of the Red Eye.
If either of these instructions are done correctly before the gauge is filled, Golgotha's Nightmare Shield defenses are reduced, making it easier to be destroyed. Afterwards, he'll be in a incapacitated state for a few seconds once the pattern ends.
