Template talk:MaxSkillRow

From DFO World Wiki

Rename to SkillMasteryRow

the name 'MaxSkillRow' is a bit misleading -- this template should be used to indicate max skill because of mastery, not max skill because of level cap (or at least, that's how i see it, esp. since 85 cap is imminent and the highlighted row doesn't really give much information otherwise). thoughts? ~dfmchfhf (T·C) 02:19, 26 May 2015 (PDT)

I think it was designed to make skill tables look nice. The way I see it, if the skill table ends, then you hit cap. However, recently I noticed that certain skills (Spirit Bond) increase the skill level. Should you have a weapon or equipment that also increases skill level, you could in theory go up 5 levels past the "max skill because of level cap."--Dfoplayer (talk) 08:30, 26 May 2015 (PDT)
some skills are/will be learnable with tactician's contract past level cap, some aren't because of mastery... makes things a bit confusing when (1) the game has metadata for required level past a mastery -- e.g. lollipop kept on telling me i need level 75 to get +1 lollipop when i was at mastery; (2) it means every page will need to be changed whenever the level cap is changed; and (3) some masteries are *at* level cap, which makes (1) and (2) more complicated... *shrug* ~dfmchfhf (T·C) 03:29, 29 May 2015 (PDT)
I just realized, what mastery are we talking about? Shouldn't we have to change every page when level cap is increased because mastery is also increased? --Dfoplayer (talk) 08:11, 29 May 2015 (PDT)
skill mastery, e.g. witch's lollipop level 10 or creator's draw level 1, or magical rear attack level 10, where the skill itself is capped (and says "mastery" instead of "lv xx". (for more examples, all common skills have a mastery level, although basic training works weirdly.) ~dfmchfhf (T·C) 06:20, 30 May 2015 (PDT)
