Dungeon Bwanga's Camp

Description

One of the four legendary weapon masters,Bwanga is the boss of Bwanga's Camp, and is the Bludgeon weapon master. You must clear all prior quests related to the dungeon before you are allowed to face him in combat.

Move List

  • Has a variety of melee attacks including Uppercuts, Wide swings and Downward Smashes. Some of his melee attacks cause the earth to shake around the impact point for extra damage. He is always super-armored when using his melee attacks.
  • Glows blue and slowly vanishes, then reappears behind you at the other end of the screen to performs an extremely fast charging attack. If he manages to collide into you, he will perform an extremely powerful Star in the Sky attack that inflicts absurd damage and can stun you on hit.
  • If you attack him just outside of his melee range or with projectiles, he will perform a quick dashing attack (with blue after-images) that is virtually impossible to avoid.
  • Leaps high into the air. Causes an extremely powerful shockwave upon landing that inflicts enormous amount of damage. Jump at the right timing to avoid.
  • May cast Haste on himself when his health is low enough. This will increase his movement speed and attack speed drastically.

Strategy

  • He has extremely long range with his melee attacks. He will most likely hit you first if you approach him on the X-axis and try to combo him.
  • Melee combat with Bwanga is extremely dangerous: He is nearly always super-armored, and has very long reach with his huge weapon. Use grabs, LOTS of grabs, or simply quick hit-and-run attacks. Inflict damage, then get out of his range before he swings and hope he does not perform his dashing attack.
  • You MUST avoid his leaping attack. The earthquake caused upon landing covers the ENTIRE room.
  • If you have Disenchantment, cast it as soon as Bwanga casts haste on himself. The difficulty of the fight doubles when he increases his speed to augment his ridiculously powerful attacks.
  • Avoid his disappearing trick by moving on the Y-axis. Do NOT try to hit him out of the attack once he disappears completely - Although possible, the timing is extremely strict and you must do it with a grab move as he most likely still has the super-armor effect on him. However, you can grab him out of this attack during his disappearing animation, before he fully vanishes.
  • Bwanga is somewhat slow at first, so if your skills are on cooldown, or you miss a combo, run. Being caught in one of Bwanga's combos can result in death; each one of his attacks not only does a monstrous amount of damage, but also has a very high chance of stunning you. In short, you won't be running until he's through, which usually isn't until you're dead.
  • ALL his attacks cause stunning at a VERY high rate.

Notes / Oddities

  • Yes, he CAN break out of hitstun mid-combo to perform his dashing attack, although this happens very rarely.
  • When fighting in a party, stay away from your teammates when he performs his disappearing trick. Since it is targeted at a single individual, dodging as if he were attacking you could inadvertently lead you into his attack anyway.
  • Grapplers can easily solo him if they keep their distance after their combos, as grabs can stop all his moves mid animation.
  • Bwanga will use his dashing attack more if you provoke him with projectiles. If you MUST use projectiles, attack him at a far enough range so that you have the time to dodge his counter-attack.
