Items are an essential feature in DFO, as are in any other games. Earlier on, characters depend greatly on levels and skills to improve their strength, but as the game progresses, they tend to become increasingly reliant on effective use of items, be they equipment, consumables, ingredients or quest materials.

Depending on their rarity, items are classified into different ranks, indicated by the color of their names.

Item Types

Equipment

Equipment refers to wearable items like weapons, armors and accessories. Many weapons are class-specific, and armors are subdivided into two categories: material (cloth, leather, light armor, heavy armor, metal plate) and part (shoulder, upper body, lower body, head, waist).

Consumables

Consumables consist of items capable of healing HP, MP or status ailments. Throwable weapons and items that provide EXP or skill points are also included in this category.

Materials

These items are used for quests or as ingredients when crafting items. Numerous items fall into this category, so this section of the inventory tends to fill up rather quickly. Examine quest requirements beforehand and regularly sort out the inventory.

Quest Items

Quest items are used exclusively for quests, and have no other uses. They are obtained while undertaking certain quests, either by directly receiving them from NPCs or defeating monsters.

Item Ranks

Item ranks are denoted by color.

Common Items

Common items are typically found in shops or easily obtained out in the field. As common equipment is seldom sought after by players, be not afraid to dispose of it to NPCs.

Uncommon Items

Uncommon equipment of level requirements lower than 40 can be purchased from shops. They usually tend to be inexpensive.

Rare Items

Rare items tend to be more pricy. They also come with seals that can be removed to personalize the item to that player. Once the seal is removed, the item can no longer be traded between players.

Unique Items

Unique items are similar to rare items, but they are harder to obtain.

Set Items

Set items consist of 'family items' that, once worn at the same time, provide special effects. These effects range from stat buffs to skill level-ups.

Epic Items

Epic items are dropped by monsters at a low chance in Hell level dungeons. They cannot be traded between players.
