Chapter 1

Storybook contents are currently under construction for revision...

A golden-colored woman flies in, tearing through the air. In an instant, she lands between her enemy together with a tremendous, deafening roar. A powerful shockwave erupts, sending the unsuspecting foes flying in all directions.

...

Man: M-Monster...!

The golden-colored woman raised her head, fixating her gaze upon the man. However, she didn't move a muscle and only stared.

Man: (W-What? I-I'm alive?)

Was she out of energy? Or was he not even worth killing?

...

(I'm alive! I'm going to live!)
The man shouted out with joy in his heart as he turned around and attempted to flee.
However, a wooden stick that came flying out of nowhere struck him in the head and knocked him unconscious.

Golden-colored Woman: *Sigh*... I thought I told you. It's dangerous, Pai.

The pink-haired girl holding the wooden stick that knocked the man conscious responded to the woman's words.

Pai: Niu, you're always fighting alone... I... want to help too... Is that wrong?

The golden light that surrounded the woman faded. As the bright light dissipated, long blue hair fluttered in the wind. The woman...No, the girl, who was the woman, stroked the pink-haired girl's head and replied back with a smile.

...

Guardian: Niu!

One of the Guardians screamed urgently, searching for Niu.

Guardian: From the sky, toward Harlem...!

...

Niu: I'm going to Harlem.

...

Pai: Niu... Be careful... Make sure to come back... Please.

Niu: I will. I'll come back no matter what. I promise.

Niu headed toward Harlem without delay. Pai watched Niu's retreating figure and tightly clasped her hands.

Niu was always the first to protect everyone. Always the one who came back with a smile and tenderly held my hand. And this time again, for the sake of everyone... and myself, she did not hesitate to take the risk.

Pai was a bit glum, but more-so, her heart grew more determined and proud. She thought to herself that one day, she too, wanted to be the one to protect everyone... even Niu.

With a determined look over her always expressionless face, Pai repeated to herself in a barely audible voice.

Pai: I'll do my best too.
