In-Dungeon

(Upon entering the Dungeon) (The Adventurer and Arthur arrive to a location engulfed in a dark red mist.) Adventurer (Is it ahead of me?) (Upon entering the Boss Room) (The Adventurer and Arthur enter an altered space with blue skies, white clouds, and green vegetation. As the party moves forward, a figure crashes to the ground like a meteorite before them. Rising the debris is a red masked figure wielding a lance and shield.) Arthur Arketo! (Arketo prepares a shielded stance, readying his lance.) Red Leg Arketo You can... never beat me. It's over. Arthur Grrr! (Arthur unleashes a flurry of wind upon Arketo, which he easily parries.) Red Leg Arketo So transparent. (Arketo raises his lance and his forms splits into several afterimages. In an instant, he appears in-front of Arthur. Arthur readies an attack, but Arketo runs him down. As Arthur flies backward, Arketo turns his attention to the Adventurer.) Red Leg Arketo Let's see if you can dodge this. (Upon entering the Boss Room) (Arketo collapses to the ground, his lance plunged into the earth.) Red Leg Arketo How...? I won't... (Arketo struggles back on his feet and raises his lance skyward.) Red Leg Arketo Be beaten! (Arketo rushes forward, and the Adventurer dodges. Arketo rises into the air as energy radiates in his lance. As he readies his plunge, suddenly a bright light flashes, and Arketo falls to the ground.) Red Leg Arketo Oh, no... This... (A swirling squall of verdant green leaves surround Arketo, transforming him back into Verdant Frekses.) Verdant Frekses A-Adventurer... Adventurer Frekses! (The Adventurer runs over to the collapsed Frekses.) Verdant Frekses Finally, I... I did... so many bad things... (Their surroundings darken. The lush garden behind them returns to the fell ruins of Pandemonium. Ominous, red eyes pierce the shrouded misty veil as a thunderous voice echoes from above.) Prey-Isys Finally... death has come... Verdant Frekses M-move away! (As soon as Frekses pushes the Adventurer back, a colossal bird-like creature crashes between them. The creature's eye radiates a bright light as its body rises among the blackish, red energy emitting from its body.) Adventurer Ugh, Frekses! Prey-Isys To destroy all the worlds! (Isys approaches the Adventurer.) Prey-Isys I've always wanted to see you. I saw you when I woke up inside my egg. You were pulsating with this heat that was ready to explode. I wanted to know why... how you could contain such heat. Your power wasn't like Prey's that promoted life; it was like mine that attracted death. And it radiated so much heat! That's why I was curious. You and I were different, but the same. I couldn't understand you, but I thought I could if I tried. Why are you standing here? For what did you come here? For what are you challenging me, who's incomparable to you? What is it that makes you so determined-so passionate? (Isys unfurls his wings and rises into the air, unleashing a loud screech. The Adventurer falls to one knee.) Adventurer (This suffocating pressure...!) Prey-Isys And... What is it about you that makes everyone follow you? You're happy to risk your life and jump into fire for others. Adventurer (He's... sad?) Prey-Isys I thought if I could understand you, (Isys unleashing a remorseful cry. He moves his arm and clenches his fist, the surroundings revert back to the lush world.) Prey-Isys I'd never be lonely again. So, (Soon after, their surroundings return to the fell Pandemonium.) Prey-Isys can you explain it to me? (Upon defeating the Boss) (The lush world surrounds the two. Isys sends the Adventurer flying with a punch. Then teleports in their path of trajectory, and punches them in the opposite direction. The Adventurer crashes into the trunks of trees and immediately gets back on their feet and runs toward Isys.) Prey-Isys What... (Isys smashes his foot upon the ground. The energy pushes the Adventurer downward as Isys raises his leg skyward. Energy gathers in his foot as he crashes downward, but the Adventurer rebounds quickly to avoid the attack.) Prey-Isys What motivates you to move like this? (The scenery reverts back to Pandemonium.) Adventurer ...Nothing. Prey-Isys ...What? Adventurer I have no reason. I just fight what I have to. Prey-Isys How disappointing! (Isys unfurls his wings and rises skyward.) Prey-Isys That's not the answer I wanted! I thought you were different. You're not. Die. (Dark energy gathers around Isys.) Adventurer (I can't... die like this...) Tracker Niu Adventurer! Now! (Dark energy engulfs the Adventurer. But suddenly, a bright light shatters its foothold. An arrow of light falls from the sky and impales Isys.) Prey-Isys You... You tricked me! Adventurer (Now!) Prey-Isys This isn't fair! Kwargggh!

Isys-Prey Finally... it's over. Well, maybe this is just the beginning. With your help, I absorbed the weakened Isys. Things are still unstable, but at least we avoided the imminent disaster. I want to repay you right away, but... Narration Isys-Prey turned his gaze to unconscious Arthur and Frekses. His majestic eyes were clouded by sadness. Isys-Prey ...I must tend to the wounded first. I'll come back when it's time. I won't be long. Narration Isys-Prey soared into the sky with Arthur and Frekses in his arms. He staggered unstably for a moment, but quickly disappeared out of sight.
