<!-- Luke was originally the king of Heblon, a kingdom that is located on a planet different from where the game takes place. Due to unknown reasons, Luke was teleported to Pandemonium and had lost his memories. During this time, the kingdom of Heblon had fallen due to his absence.

Since then, Luke had been exploited by Apostles Hilder and Bakal to construct vast structures across Pandemonium for thousands of years, including the Castle of the Dead and re-building the Metro Center. After completing endless structures, he eventually regained his memories of Heblon. Distraught, he decided to turn Pandemonium into a new Heblon.

After completing endless structures, he eventually regained his memories of Heblon. Distraught, he decided to turn Pandemonium into a new Heblon.

At some point, he had caught wind of Hilder's prophecy regarding the eventual death of all Apostles. Fearing for his life, he grew increasingly paranoid and desperate, even going so far as to create an immortal army to fend off Hilder's forces. By the time the Adventurer arrives in Arad, Luke had released the Black Nightmare into Arad, which was used to extract light and dark energies from Arad in order to empower himself.

As the Adventurer attempts to travel to Pandemonium through the Castle of the Dead in Zelva, Luke's defenses had grown significantly. He is declared as a threat by the De Los Empire and Empyreans, who decides that he must be stopped for the sake of Arad's survival. The Adventurer, alongside Empyrean and Imperial forces, eventually break past Luke's magical barrier within the Castle of the Dead and meet him face to face.

Luke makes his appearance as the final boss of Luke Raid inside Solium Machina. His fight is divided into two different phases being <span style="color:Goldenrod">Lumen</span> &  <span style="color:purple">Caligo</span>, wielding very similar attack patterns with some noticeable differences on the ones that play out depending on which path the party took for Phase 2.
 +
 +
Move Set
 +
* Energy Aura: Luke throughout the entire fight will always have an armor-like aura emitting either Light or Darkness that makes him invincible, mitigates damage to a bare minimum and cannot be held or stunned while it's active. In order to damage Luke, he must receive at least 250 - 300 hits for the aura to dissipate that causes the "Light/Darkness is scattering..." message to appear. But do keep in mind that there is a timer gauge below to see how long his aura is down before he fully regenerates it.
 +
 +
* Luke's Prophecy: He'll jump to the top-center of the screen and begins to create a huge barrier around himself with a timer gauge below that starts to fill up. Players must destroy this barrier immediately once he begins using this move before casting is complete, failure to meet the requirements will result in Luke lifting up party members as the screen flashes white with their skills reset on max cooldown and HP drained.
 +
 +
* Barrier Seal:
 +
** Luke selects the player furthest away and places a barrier upon them:
 +
** <span style="color:Goldenrod">(Lumen)</span> Skill Seal: Above the player's head shows six skills of their class that are locked and shouldn't be used while the barrier is in effect until it fades out. If that player uses said-sealed skill, they'll be instantly killed and the barrier transfers over to another player.
 +
** <span style="color:purple">(Caligo)</span> Dark Seal: The player with the highest HP will be trapped and cannot move at all. This barrier can be destroyed by other party members to set them free, otherwise they'll end up being an easy target for Luke's attacks and this too can be transferred over if the trapped player dies.
 +
 +
* Junk Summon: Luke summons several pieces of metal trash behind him that is thrown at the players with explosive properties. He's invulnerable during this move and players are flung in the air upon being hit. Can be avoided by staying still and above Luke's Y-Axis.
 +
 +
* Energy Laser:
 +
** <span style="color:Goldenrod">(Lumen)</span> Triple Shot: Luke fires out three lasers, shooting from the middle, the top, and then the bottom. Not difficult to avoid, but can be flung or juggled if the attack connects.
 +
** <span style="color:purple">(Caligo)</span> Laser Tracker: Luke chooses the player furthest and randomly targets them with a giant tracking laser, following the selected player. It leaves a trail on the floor and stepping on it will cause damage. Targeted players will have a marker below their feet so do your best to move away from party members if you're being followed by one.
 +
 +
* Melee: Luke randomly jumps towards to a player and rapidly punches them, dealing moderate to high damage.
 +
 +
* Earthquake: Luke creates explosions in a horizontally straight line. It deals minor damage and players can be juggled upon contact.
 +
 +
* Energy Sphere Barrage: Luke summons a mass amount of energy spheres launches them down at players. They deal moderate damage and are very fast traveling, making it difficult to avoid. They have explosive properties that knocks down players and leaves traces on the ground where stepping or falling into them causes continuous damage until fading away.
 +
 +
* Cross Explosion: Luke will become dark and invulnerable to where he'll start casting a move. Party members who are furthest away will also receive a cast bar, including an aura below them. Once the bar is filled, a cross shaped explosion will occur that spreads through out the room.
 +
 +
*  Reflection Mode:
 +
** <span style="color:Goldenrod">(Lumen)</span>  After Luke sustains a certain amount of damage and for a short period of time, Luke activates this mode that collects and shoots back projectile-based moves at the party. Players getting hit by their own attack will most likely kill them.
 +
** <span style="color:purple">(Caligo)</span> Similar to the Lumen reflect, except that multi-hitting Luke will cause him to retaliate by spraying out numerous dark spheres at the party. Because of this, it's better to refrain from attacking him while the mode is active.
 +
 +
<span style="color:red">Berserk</span>
 +
* Fury Storm: Identical to Blade Master's Ultimate Slay: Tempest If Luke is dealt with too many multi-hits or lingering holds, he'll pull the entire party into a circle where they're immobilized and cannot move out of it, rapidly attacking them before dealing the final blow that can fling players right in the air, dealing heavy to lethal damage upon each hit.

I am afraid. I am Luke, the king of Heblon and the monarch of light and darkness—I can't die such a pathetic death! It can't be a premonition! I won't die. I'll change fate if I must. I'll prove that premonition is wrong. I'll create something in my likeness, so that they could die instead of me. I'll also create the strongest warriors that will allow no enemies near me.

Luke, also known as The One Who Touches Earth Without A Word and The King of Heblon, is the ninth Apostle of Pandemonium. Ever since his birth, Luke's blood drove him into a life of endless constructing. While much about Luke still remains unknown, it was him who showed Bakal many events of the future, including the death of the Apostles, and what that entailed.

Luke serves as the central antagonist of the Pandemonium quest-line and final boss of the Luke's Laboratory dungeons.

The King of Heblon

Prior to his arrival in Pandemonium, Luke was the king of Heblon, a highly-developed technological and architectural planet permanently split between light and darkness due to having the same orbital and rotational period. For generations, Luke's royal line worked with the deities of light and darkness, Light Idol Horus and Dark Idol Anubis, and acted as conduits for their energies to keep the planet in balance by manipulating the cycles of day and night.

Additionally, Luke was born with a talent for construction and the royal family's gift for foresight. Combined with his diverse creativity, Luke was able to create self-aware machines that felt and acted like living beings, as well as construct buildings that could withstand impact for hundreds of years. His ability for prophecy and exceptional wisdom was renown throughout the universe, to the point where even Hilder asked him for premonitions in the past.

Luke used his abilities to selflessly protect and provide for his people, and regarded all his subjects like his own children. In return, his people loved and admired him like a father, and worshiped him like a god.[1]

Arrival in Pandemonium

As time passed and age began to take its toll, Luke started to worry about his inevitable demise, particularly: "What should happen to Heblon and its people should he die or disappear?" Despite Heblon currently flourishing and kept in balance by his power, there was no one to replace him.

Although Luke had children, Iron-armed Princess Kalbarri and Large-armed Prince Golgotha, late in his life, they could not individually harness both the powers of light and darkness to harmoniously maintain the cycles of day and night.

As his worries grew and his heart grew heavier, Pandemonium settled near Heblon, to which a woman named Hilder came to see him.

She was confident and intelligent, and at the same time cunning. During their first meeting, Hilder was able to pierce though his facade and detect the uneasiness hiding in Luke's heart. Using Luke's worries as bait, she urged him to come to Pandemonium under the pretext of the "Water of Life".

Moved by her notion, Luke left Heblon and headed to Pandemonium under the pretense that he would receive the Water of Life, gain immortality, and return home. But that was far from the truth.[2]

Decline

It was all but a ruse from Hilder. Fearing the power of Luke, one of the most prominent beings in the universe, Hilder brought him to Pandemonium to exhaust him of all his strength.

Upon his arrival, Luke was overwhelmed by the endless darkness of Pandemonium. The light was slowly driven from his body, putting it into shock. Having lost his strength, Luke transformed into a small, feeble old man, and spent his years in confusion, having lost all his memories.

Deprived of everything, only his instincts remained. With a troubled mind bombarded by fragmented memories, he constructed buildings all day long without saying a word.[3]

Recovered Memories

In a dark workroom, someone draws schematics by the light of a single candle. He is a small old man with many arms, known as Luke the Constructor among the people of Pandemonium.
Luke didn't remember when or how he arrived in Pandemonium. He knew he was someone Hilder knows, and that he arrived in Pandemonium through space and time, just like the other Apostles.
But he wasn't as strong as them.
In fact, he was weaker than the most ordinary beings in Pandemonium. If he was supposed to be so powerful, why was he so weak now? It was a simple question, but it never crossed his mind.
The thoughts in his mind were always so chaotic that he could barely string a coherent sentence together. It was constantly bombarded by images and noises that were foreign to him. Shards of vague memories from his past tormented and suffocated him, but even the loudest clamor in his mind couldn't stop him from building and creating things. Sometimes when he returned to his workroom for a break, he would remember the images that had flashed in his mind earlier and draw schematics based on what he could recall.
Doing that gave him some kind of emotion, maybe peace or hope. For some reason, he believed it would help him remember his past if he simply continued to work.
His buildings, which he once created without putting much thought into, started to show a pattern.
Years passed. Decades passed. Centuries passed. Luke no longer remembered why he decided to do what he was doing. He just kept digging the ground, erecting columns, piling bricks into buildings, and repairing ones from ancient times.
Then one day, he revived Metro Center, which had been dead for a long time.
Light poured into Pandemonium for the first time in centuries, clearing Luke's head at once. Suddenly a power surged through his hands clutching his hammer and saw. All his lost memories flooded back to his mind at once, telling him where he came from, who he was, and what his purpose was.

"I am Luke!"

He shouted. His voice couldn't be heard—the engines of Metro Center were too loud—but it made the air ripple with energy. Soon the rays of light disappeared, as if they were absorbed into Luke's body, so did his power and voice.
But Luke clearly realized who he really was and what he must do.

—— He Who Silently Touches the Soil[4]

The Black Nightmare

Some time ago, I started having nightmares. Every time, I see my own death.
I tried to avoid dying, but it wasn't easy since I was a decrepit old man in my dreams.
In them, my strong, imposing body shriveled as my breath became shallow, and then I stopped breathing altogether.
I had a feeling that I was being murdered by someone, but I have no idea who. None of my guardians were with me. They were probably killed...
I was mumbling something as I was dying, but I couldn't hear what I was saying. Just when I feel like I'm close to figuring it out, I wake up.
I'm afraid.
I'm Luke, the king of Heblon and the monarch of light and darkness--I can't die such a pathetic death! It can't be a premonition!
I won't die. I'll change fate if I must. I'll prove that premonition is wrong. I'll create something in my likeness, so that they could die instead of me.
I'll also create the strongest warriors that will allow no enemies near me.

Luke makes his appearance as the final boss of Luke Raid inside Solium Machina. His fight is divided into two different phases being Lumen & Caligo, wielding very similar attack patterns with some noticeable differences on the ones that play out depending on which path the party took for Phase 2.

Move Set

  • Energy Aura: Luke throughout the entire fight will always have an armor-like aura emitting either Light or Darkness that makes him invincible, mitigates damage to a bare minimum and cannot be held or stunned while it's active. In order to damage Luke, he must receive at least 250 - 300 hits for the aura to dissipate that causes the "Light/Darkness is scattering..." message to appear. But do keep in mind that there is a timer gauge below to see how long his aura is down before he fully regenerates it.
  • Luke's Prophecy: He'll jump to the top-center of the screen and begins to create a huge barrier around himself with a timer gauge below that starts to fill up. Players must destroy this barrier immediately once he begins using this move before casting is complete, failure to meet the requirements will result in Luke lifting up party members as the screen flashes white with their skills reset on max cooldown and HP drained.
  • Barrier Seal:
    • Luke selects the player furthest away and places a barrier upon them:
    • (Lumen) Skill Seal: Above the player's head shows six skills of their class that are locked and shouldn't be used while the barrier is in effect until it fades out. If that player uses said-sealed skill, they'll be instantly killed and the barrier transfers over to another player.
    • (Caligo) Dark Seal: The player with the highest HP will be trapped and cannot move at all. This barrier can be destroyed by other party members to set them free, otherwise they'll end up being an easy target for Luke's attacks and this too can be transferred over if the trapped player dies.
  • Junk Summon: Luke summons several pieces of metal trash behind him that is thrown at the players with explosive properties. He's invulnerable during this move and players are flung in the air upon being hit. Can be avoided by staying still and above Luke's Y-Axis.
  • Energy Laser:
    • (Lumen) Triple Shot: Luke fires out three lasers, shooting from the middle, the top, and then the bottom. Not difficult to avoid, but can be flung or juggled if the attack connects.
    • (Caligo) Laser Tracker: Luke chooses the player furthest and randomly targets them with a giant tracking laser, following the selected player. It leaves a trail on the floor and stepping on it will cause damage. Targeted players will have a marker below their feet so do your best to move away from party members if you're being followed by one.
  • Melee: Luke randomly jumps towards to a player and rapidly punches them, dealing moderate to high damage.
  • Earthquake: Luke creates explosions in a horizontally straight line. It deals minor damage and players can be juggled upon contact.
  • Energy Sphere Barrage: Luke summons a mass amount of energy spheres launches them down at players. They deal moderate damage and are very fast traveling, making it difficult to avoid. They have explosive properties that knocks down players and leaves traces on the ground where stepping or falling into them causes continuous damage until fading away.
  • Cross Explosion: Luke will become dark and invulnerable to where he'll start casting a move. Party members who are furthest away will also receive a cast bar, including an aura below them. Once the bar is filled, a cross shaped explosion will occur that spreads through out the room.
  • Reflection Mode:
    • (Lumen) After Luke sustains a certain amount of damage and for a short period of time, Luke activates this mode that collects and shoots back projectile-based moves at the party. Players getting hit by their own attack will most likely kill them.
    • (Caligo) Similar to the Lumen reflect, except that multi-hitting Luke will cause him to retaliate by spraying out numerous dark spheres at the party. Because of this, it's better to refrain from attacking him while the mode is active.

Berserk

  • Fury Storm: Identical to Blade Master's Ultimate Slay- Tempest.png Ultimate Slay: Tempest If Luke is dealt with too many multi-hits or lingering holds, he'll pull the entire party into a circle where they're immobilized and cannot move out of it, rapidly attacking them before dealing the final blow that can fling players right in the air, dealing heavy to lethal damage upon each hit.
