The Thrower only has one attack in which he stops and throws a Pebble at the player. This attack has the same windup time as a standard goblin club swing. Simply moving vertically will cause the pebble to most likely miss since it has a low vertical range. Fighting this monster horizontally is not recommended as it will most likely result in you taking multiple hits.
