Description

The boss of Vilmark - Area 50 is a giant mechanical Tau that employs a variety of dangerous attacks. Needless to say, many of his attacks are dangerous and difficult to avoid.

Move List

Hyper Mecha Tau has a wide variety of moves, most of them lifted from familiar skills.

  • Triple Lighting Streak - Just like the Heaven Expeller, Hyper Mecha Tau will use this after recovering from a knockdown. It summons streaks of lightning that fan off in three different directions. It covers a lot of ground and activates quickly.
  • Flame Breath - Similar to Freet's fire breath; shoots out a horizonal burst of flame. It's difficult to tell where exactly you can get hit, so try to avoid being in its path. Can cause Burning and Stun.
  • Axe Attack - Normal Axe attack. Beware its range.
  • Axe Attack Aura - Simliar to above, but the attack creates a purple aura on the ground that can hit from slightly above or below where he hit.
  • Ground Laser - Similar to the Evil Eyes' attack from Floating Castle; The difference here is that there won't be a lot following you around, and it only happens periodically.
  • Grab Guard - If Grab Guard Mode is on (he'll say so), he can perform an attack that lifts you into the air, and may keep you there awhile. If you fall back down, be careful not to hit anyone! If Grab Guard Mode is off, then Hyper Mecha Tau is vulnerable to grab attacks.
  • Alarm Bots - Likely the sole thing that will get you killed in this fight if not careful. After Hyper Mecha Tau loses most of his HP, he'll summon Alarm Bots that will move around making a loud alarm noise. He will then become invincible, so focus on defeating the Alarm Robots rather than going after him. Once all the Alarm Robots are defeated, he'll lose his invincibility. However, if you do not defeat the Alarm Robots quickly, they will summon the various monsters you’ve encountered throughout the dungeon to attack you here once again. If that happens, the fight is likely lost.
