Lore

Character Biography:

Female/Age unknown.

In an isolated corner of the Back Alley a girl sat limply, her exposed skin covered with scratches.
A woman with a hood pulled over her face approached her.
Having sensed another presence, the girl raised her head, but her eyes roamed as if they had a hard time focusing on what was before her.
Looking vaguely curious, the girl spoke into the air.

"...Who are you?"

The woman silently looked down at the girl.
This little thing was breathing, but the energy it radiated was of the dead.

"Did you come to... kill me?"
Again, the woman didn't answer. The girl continued to speak as if she didn't care.

"There's no need to do that. I'm already dead."

Before the woman could ask why, the girl spoke again.

"I'm not even as interesting as a pebble. No one cares about me. Even the Imposters ignore me."

No wonder she thought she was dead.

The bloodthirsty creatures that were Imposters never left the living alone.

"I must be dead."

The woman agreed silently. You don't exist, even if you're alive, so long as others don't recognize you.

A dark shadow cast over the girl's face. She moved her lingering gaze upward from the hem of the woman's hood.

The woman was disappointed. This girl wasn't what she imagined when she heard the rumor about a child who survived Imposters.

Reluctantly, she raised a hand.

The girl was so confused that she thought she was dead. Maybe death would be real bliss to her...

Suddenly, the girl spoke again.

"Really?"

Only then, the woman realized she hadn't been speaking to her at all.

When the girl first raised her head, it wasn't because she was weak that she wasn't looking at her directly.

She was trying to look at someone else who couldn't even be compared to her, who was in a much higher place. And she'd met him through her.

Then, the girl started radiating familiar energy.

The woman instinctively raised both of her arms to cover her face, barely missing the powerful explosion of energy that engulfed her shortly.

Even in the thick cloud of dust, she could see.

The girl had received their god's message in person. Now, she was reborn as an Imposter and radiating energy more brightly than anyone else the woman had seen.

Black Purgatory Lore:

The outskirts of Chest Town had been left abandoned for a long time.

It was filled with darker and heavier energy than Chest Town, which looked pretty sinister itself.

The Priest Order would have been here already, if it knew one of its enemies, the Cult of Darkness, had set up a secret base

in the middle of the contaminated wasteland.

Here, Calling Jade, the Fierce Blood with a dark red hood pulled over her face, sat holding her chin, looking troubled.

The source of her trouble was the two chess units standing in front of her. Her eyes moved between them as if measuring their value.

She removed her hand from under her chin, reaching out to one of them.

"The one who'll follow the gods until the end of Hell..."

Her finger gently pushed down the black unit.

It then moved to the other unit standing next to it.

Calling Jade picked it up, mumbling.

"The one who holds the dark stigma at the end of lust..."

Suddenly, she became bombarded by the memory of humiliation in the Abandoned Haven during the Night of Revelation.

She didn't expect Him to acknowledge him.

That meant he wouldn't interfere with His plans. She didn't need to worry about him.

But she did.

Her intuition that she'd developed while devoted to Him as the celebrant of the Cult was shouting warnings at her.

"I don't trust you, Midnight's Darkness."

Click.

She placed the dark red unit upright with more force than necessary.

He moved outside their elaborate plans. He dared twist their god's messages.

She couldn't trust someone like that, but she couldn't get rid of him, either.

The god had to have embraced him for something foolish servants like her couldn't fathom.

"Midnight's Darkness, whatever you want, it's within His will."

In the end, there was nothing she needed to worry about.

History

Calling Jade makes her first boss appearance in The Exile Mountains' Night of Revelation inside Abandoned Haven. She would later show up for a second time during Black Purgatory as the a sub-boss during the first intersection at Outskirts of Roschest.

Move Set

  • Transformation: When entering the Abandoned Haven, a cutscene begins with Jade transforming into her monster form and attempts to hit the player. During this sequence, a quick time event will began where by pressing the left, right and up keys correctly in the right order, not only does the player avoid Jade's attacks, but opens her up to a mini groggy state for at least 5 seconds.
  • Claw Swing: Jade delivers a upward claw attack in either a single or double method.
  • Tail Sting: By using her stinger, she can knock a player back and inflict bleed status upon being hit.
  • Red Spikes: Jade can create a front line of red spikes that protrude from underneath the ground.
  • Claw Thrash: Similar to Claw Swing, but does this much faster.
  • Burrowing: Jade can burrow underneath to follow players that has a red circle indicating where she'll rise up to attack.
  • Mucus Trail: Whenever Jade moves around the room, she'll leave a slime spot that if stepped on causes little damage and inflicts slow status.
  • Venom Explosion: She'll spit out of a large pool of poison covering a portion of the room. Her Black Purgatory version is capable of pulling in players that deals even more damage.
  • Venom Gas: Similar to Venom Explosion, but she unleashes a gas cloud instead which inflicts multi-hit damage.
  • Berserk: (Night of Revelation Only) Throughout the fight, blood starts to flow in from boths sides of the ceremonial altar floor that's shaped like the Black Order insignia, gradually gathers into the middle section. When the insignia is entirely filled, Jade pushes back everyone as she begins one of two Berserk patterns:
    • Holy Ritual: Jade moves to a specific location as she unleashes a curse that involves floating eyeballs that tracks after players. To avoid being damaged by the curse, players are required to gather around inside of a blue halidom where the ceremonial circle is which functions like a Nen Guard.png Nen Guard. When the timer gauge fills, that halidom explodes and leaves Jade in a 15 second groggy state.
    • Final Ritual: For her second Berserk, Jade moves over the altar and launches out her curse again at the player. There are two green pentacles that appear on the floor and only activates when standing on one, creating an aura. Similar to Holy Ritual, the player will need to stay inside a pentacle while they wait for the Powerful Curse Creeps timer gauge to empty out. Should they succeed, a roomwide explosion occurs and Jade once again enters another 15 second groggy state. Alternatively, that same explosion can inflict an instant kill on those who aren't inside a pentacle, this also applies to Elite APC Members.

Strategy

  • Jade for the most part is not a very difficult boss to fight despite wielding a large HP pool with telegraphed attack patterns, although she can be far more dangerous during Black Purgatory as some of her Poison-specific moves can easily kill players if they're within their range. Level 1 parties can easily burst her down with your strongest skills, but do not use Awakenings upon reaching the first intersection.
