Description

The Boss of Slums Gate, the Headless Knight is a formidable foe and will not go down without a fierce fight. Employs many hard-hitting and fast attacks.

Move List

  • Casts Super Armor whenever he is attacking.
  • Cannot be launched or grabbed
  • Charges up to release a powerful projectile attack. Dust effects and a magical spell circle will appear under him when using this attack. It shoots four green translucent ghostly replicas of himself as projectiles to attack you. The ghosts start out slow, then accelerates over time.
  • Winds up his lance and slashes infront of him. A strong melee attack with very wide X-axis range.
  • Kicks you. His feet will glow red before kicking you. Can inflict stun on hit.
  • Recovers extremely fast from hitstun. Don't try to combo him at melee range for too long.
  • Charges up for a moment, then performs a fiendishly powerful multi-hitting charging attack while swinging his lance wildly in the air. If he runs over you, you will be hit multiple times. Has unlimited X-axis range, he will not stop until he hits a solid wall or the edge of the room. Will inflict bleeding status on hit.

Strategy

  • Most of his attacks have very wide X-axis range, but little Y-axis range. If you are dodging his attacks, always do so by moving on the Y-axis, preferably moving above him, as his 4-spread projectile attack has good Y-axis range below him. Also, before he uses his most powerful attacks, he will stand still in place, and has speech bubbles above his head ("I'll show you the inferno!"). Once you see these visual warnings, stop attacking and dodge his next attack first.ters instantly).
  • Items that provide bleeding tolerance are vital in this fight if you are a melee class. Being hit by his charging not only inflicts a monstrous amount of damage, but has a very high chance of causing you to bleed. The bleed effect will stack and drain your life away extremely fast, as this attack hits multiple times.
  • Try not to stand directly on the center of his sprite once he starts casting projectiles. Since his ghosts originate from his center, you will be hit by all 4 ghost projectiles, dealing massive damage to you.
    • There IS a blind spot slightly above him, where you can safely attack him at melee range and he won't be able to hit you.
  • Attacks inflict heavy shadow damage. Is highly resistant to shadow damage, and seems to be weak against light damage.
  • When his life reaches 2/3, his movement speed will increase considerably, and he will become more aggressive in his movements and attacks. Pay close attention and dodge accordingly!
  • Cannot be grabbed or knocked down, as such, his attacks are absolutely un-interruptable. Do not try to hit him out of his attacks.

Notes / Oddities

  • Interestingly, there is a small number of grabs that CAN stun him out of his attacks if they hit, such as an Asura's Ground Quaker, or a Berserker's Bloody Twister.
