Magic Dragon Basilisk (Korean:마룡 바실리스크) is one of four Gatekeeper bosses introduced in The Machine Revolution: Bakal Raid.

Lore

Character Profile:

When the King bestowed the Magic Eyes upon him, he told him not to let any human dare face the dragons.

Basilisk reiterated his master's words. The humans must not be allowed to live alongside us.

They must be trampled upon. Compared to the dragons who proved their worth through their strength, humans were weak and insignificant.

They stayed huddled together and found strength in numbers because they were so weak.

And what were you doing with such a weak human?

On his way to the battlefield, Basilisk passed by the statues of the Empyreans that he created with his deadly gaze.

As he moved through them, the blue aura around his body trailed behind him like floating ghosts.

The dynamic postures of the statues created an eerie contrast with his heavy, slow footsteps that shook the ground.

He passed by the statue of a mother sobbing with a child in her bosom who had turned into stone before she did.

He also passed by the statue of a man who was caught as he drew a weapon to protect the others around him.

Slowly, he stopped in front of another statue.

Of lovers who became stone together in each other's arms. Basilisk stood in front of it.

He stared at it for a while before he turned around, walking away.

"I wonder what you'd think if you saw me now."

Basilisk moved toward the battlefield, away from the statues.

"Mejuria, you were wrong—no, what you thought was wrong."

The ground underneath his feet shook more visibly.

Move Set

  • Petrification Gauge: One of Basilisk's core patterns. Upon encountering him, everyone receives an eye-shaped marker next to them where it'll only increase when players are either hit by one of Basilisk's physical attacks, when looking at him during Stop bothering me!, or going inside his shield at the Turn to stone! berserk. Once the gauge reaches 100, a player will get a Stone Curse (Status).png Stone Curse (Status) and receive damage in the process.
  • Stop bothering me!: When reaching 80% of his HP, Basilisk activates a demonic eye, in which directly looking at him causes the Petrification Gauge to increase significantly, alongside the player's screen blacking out when doing so.
  • Berserk
    • Turn to stone!: Basilisk jumps towards the upper middle section, and begins forming a gray shield around him that steadily grows in size, alongside a timer gauge below. In order to clear this pattern, there are yellow tombstones etched with runes that spawn throughout the map and by hitting them through auto-attacks, it drops a yellow orb. Pick up the orb and approach Basilisk inside his shield in a total of 12 times that can also shrink it down. If done successfully, he'll enter his groggy state for a few seconds.

Strategy

  • Basilisk himself isn't a difficult boss, though players should be mindful of managing their Petrification Gauge and avoid taking unnecessary damage during the fight, as picking up green orbs that occasionally spawn around the room, can reduce the gauge by 30.
