Mushroom Garden (Epic Quests)
When the Great Metastasis took place in Grand Flores, the entire Principality of Bel Myre was devastated by the impact. It's major cities including Hendon Myre, West Coast, and North Myre melted down by the extreme heat and magic energy, along with everyone in it. Then, the fungi and spores from North Bronx in Pandemonium moved in, covering the remnants of the cities with layers of lichens, mushrooms, and other fungi. Survivors scattered across the country, but some went down to the culvert in Hendon Myre and created a settlement, now known as Sewer. Situated smack in the middle of the Metastasis, the Sewer hardly had visitors, until Iris started sending adventurers down to help out the dwellers. Sewer Princess Faris, the defender of the Sewer, demanded that you must prove your worth, and sent you on the mission to exterminate Blackcap Bandits in the Mushroom Garden. The Blackcaps used to be small-time Human thieves based in North Myre, but the Metastasis left them infected by monstrous eumycetes, causing them to grow strong enough to fight a turf war against the Fungi immigrants from Pandemonium. You killed the Blackcap leader Shaito and rounded up the rest of the Blackcaps, which earned you respect in the Sewer.

Quest Giver | Blue Guardian Vetala |
Briefing | Vetala: "Thanks to you, peace is back to Silver Crown. But I can't stop worrying. Word is that monsters haven't stopped growing in number in the old Hendon Myre since the Great Metastasis. Dungeon Fighter, if you're not busy, I want you to go to the culvert in Hendon Myre. In there, the survivors of the Great Metastasis built a settlement named the Sewer. A great many people are staying in the Sewer to help rebuild Hendon Myre. I'll appreciate if you can protect them against possible monster attacks."
<Player>: "Possible monster attacks, got it. How can I get there?" Vetala: "You can access the Sewer through Underfoot, the floating capital city of the Dark Elven Kingdom. When you arrive at the Sewer, make sure to meet Sewer Princess Faris before you do anything else. Good luck with your journey. I'll be waiting for you here." |
Objectives | Talk to Sewer Princess Faris in The Sewer. |

Briefing | Faris: "So you were told to meet me the first thing when you arrived in the Sewer. Hah, whoever told you that, he's right. No one can stay in the Sewer without my blessing. But you know what? I don't want a weakling like you. Scram." |
Objectives | Talk to Sewer Princess Faris again and appeal you strength. |
Upon Completion | Faris: "You're strong, my ass. I bet a mutt on the street fights better than you do. If you want to prove your strength, then go above the ground and see if you can survive." |

Feisty Princess of the Sewer
Level | 17 |
---|---|
Quest Giver | Faris, the Sewer Princess |
Briefing | Faris: "This is the culvert in Hendon Myre. We're come underground since above the ground is infected by monsters. You know where the Great Metastasis took place, didn't you? That's right, Grand Flores. The three cities in its vicinity--Hendon Myre, North Myre, and West Coast--melted down by the heat generated during the Great Metastasis. After that, some strange mushrooms moved in from another dimension and turned the cities into forests of mushrooms and lichens. I'm going to clean up the mess and rebuild Hendon Myre. Lately, monsters have grown in numbers above the ground. If you're not afraid of dying, then go reconnoiter the area. Are you afraid of dying? Then, get out of my sight!" |
Objectives | Clear the Mushroom Garden. (Use the stairs to the left side to enter the Mushroom Garden.) |
Upon Completion | Faris: "At least you can keep yourself alive. So how was that place?" *Snort* "Humans with black mushroom caps on their heads fight mushrooms." |

Fungi-infected Bandits
Level | 17 |
---|---|
Quest Giver | Faris, the Sewer Princess |
Briefing | Faris: "Those wearing black mushroom caps are called the Blackcaps. They used to be small-time footpads based on North Myre, and they've come into power after they were infected by monstrous eumycetes. No one even knew about them before the Great Metastasis, and now they're talking about expanding their territory" *Snort* "Go wipe them out, will you? I hope you're at least capable of handling riffraff." |
Objectives | Defeat Blackcap Bandits in the Mushroom Garden on Medium or higher level.

Leader of the Ratmen and Mushrooms
Level | 17 |
---|---|
Quest Giver | Faris, the Sewer Princess |
Briefing | Faris: "That place is overrun with rats, isn't it? In North Myre there were once a gangling lad who navigated rats with the sound of his flute. I don't know if it's him, but you'll see a half-rat half-man who looks so much like a zombie, and carries eumycetes-infected rats with him. Rumor has it that he's helping Kaijin Shaito, the leader of the Blackcaps, with his territory expansion. I want you to get rid of them before things get out of hand. Oh, right; Panto releases lumps of spores when he's killed. Make sure to clean them up unless you don't mind fighting him again." |
Objectives | Defeat Panto/Kajin Shaito in Mushroom Garden on Medium or higher level.
|
Upon Completion | Faris: "You came back in one piece" *Snort* "You're not as bad as I thought you were. All right, I'll let you stay in the Sewer. I'm letting you stay only because you have the skill to keep yourself alive, got it?" |
