The Dark Elves in Underfoot originally lived in Noire Ferra, but they had to leave when it became plagued by some unknown disease. While investigating why the Dark Elves had to leave Noire Ferra, I discovered a trace amount of the Black Nightmare energy. Does this mean the Black Nightmare has something to do with that disease? I was searching for an answer when I learned about the Shadow Seekers and the cause of the disease.

Rumor about an Epidemic

Her Majesty sent out a group of investigators escorted by the Black Rock Legion, but we lost contact with them. If they don't come back soon, Morgan and I will go look for them." <Player>: "That explains why Viola hasn't shown up every time I go to the Castaway Cave. (She worked for Saffron, but I'm worried about her. Maybe I should ask Her Majesty about this.)"
Objectives	Ask Queen Maya about the rumor of the epidemic.
Upon Completion	Maya: "You've heard the rumor about an epidemic prevalent in Noire Ferra. I've been looking into it. My investigators have returned and confirmed that an epidemic has really broken out. I'm planning to send healers and mages to contain the situation." Vaughn: "Your Majesty, the conference between the two states ended and I don't want to overstep my bounds, seeing that I'm only a knight, but I'd like to make a suggestion on this matter as a member of your ally state. Most rumors are just rumors, but something about the rumors from Noire Ferra doesn't feel right. I suggest you send another group of investigators before medical aid."

I'd like to see through my mission as the head security for the peace envoys before I leave your city. Please allow me." Maya: "...I guess it'll be rude of me to turn down such a friendly offer. Then I'll assign a Dark Elf warrior to escort you." Vaughn: "If I have a companion, I'd like it to be <Player>. The adventurer's experience and combat prowess will be very helpful." Maya: "Adventurer, you decide." <Player>: "(...I just came and you have to do this to me. WHY?!)" Vaughn: "(Why not? Come on, it's going to be fun. Consider it a payback for your insult last time. I don't think she'll let me go by myself anyway. You cut me deep last time, don't you remember?)" <Player>: "(...Hmph, all right.)"

Dungeon Dialogue	Upon entering the dungeon: Vaughn: "You took the medicine you got in Underfoot, didn't you? This place remains underground. The effects of the Great Metastasis must have not reached this far. What's this pile of stones? Did the ceiling cave in?" Upon entering the Dark Elf Militia Commander: <Player>: "Dark Elves? But something's off about them." Vaughn: "Don't let your guard down." Upon encountering Shadow Seeker Noubillus: Noubillus: "My superiors were right about adventurers being attracted to this place like fireflies to light. I don't have time to enlighten you about the terrible consequences of your ignorance and recklessness. Why don't you just die in here quietly? I'll keep your abundant vital force." Vaughn: "(...Hm...?)" Upon encountering Small Interdimensional Rift: Vaughn: "The rift in that space... Hm, I think the epidemic has sneaked in through that rift." Upon encountering Phantasmal Delezie: <Player>: "The air is thick with poison!" Vaughn: "...Hey, take a look over there. Isn't that the lass you were talking about?" Upon defeating Phantasmal Delezie: <Player>: "Viola!"
Upon Completion	Vaughn: "Hey, wake up. We'd better get back to Underfoot as quickly as possible. It's good that I brought some first-aid remedies with me."

We used some first-aid remedies I took with me, so we're not in bad shape. You need to report to your queen first. All the people of Noire Ferra are dead. And tell me how many investigators returned to Underfoot." Morgan: "...Only one returned, but by the time I arrived, he was..." Vaughn: "I see. The epidemic spread in Noire Ferra came through an interdimensional rift, and its host was an illusion of Delezie." Morgan: "Delezie?! This is bad! I'll tell Klonter to report to Her Majesty right away. But for now, you need to be treated. ...Oh, no. I don't have enough ingredients..."

Maya: "We must exterminate the illusion of Delezie and reassure the general populace." Vaughn: "I'll get on it right away." Maya: "No, you're the Imperial Knight Master. I can't risk your life or our treaty with your state." <Player>: "Then I'll go. I'm familiar with the structure of the place, and there's also something I want to check. And... Delezie killed someone I knew. We didn't know each other for long and she wasn't my friend, but I still want to avenge her death."

Upon Completion	Maya: "Adventurer, welcome back. You defeated the illusion of Delezie singlehandedly. I'm deeply impressed." <Player>: "The illusion is gone, but the energy it radiated was similar to that I felt at the Spider Kingdom, the Hero's Catacomb, and the Tyrant's Altar. The energy is similar to that of the Black Nightmare, and yet different. Iris said the energy of the Black Nightmare was eclipse by the lingering influence of the Great Metastasis, but..." Maya: "I see. Then we should continue to investigate this matter. Thank you for your hard work. The spirits of Delezie's victims will now rest in peace. You've earned the privilege to ride the royal Magatha of Underfoot. It'll be useful for travelling a long distance."
