Overview & Gameplay Progression
Released in July 2024 as part of the Season 8, Act.04 patch, Asrahan: Curtains of Mu is the second prelude-related content that is considered to be a guide mode for an upcoming eighth raid that's focused around Mu, God of Mist. Just like Total War, either you as a solo player or a party of four members can traverse through the World of Rumination's Border Walls, which are Mu's unstable dreams. Here, you'll battle five bosses that represents the five elements and memories alike. For every week that's similar to Hall of Dimensions's Boss lineup, one of the five Asrahan Boss Monsters will be selected as the last fight encountered in a stronger state, while the other four remain as Named Bosses.
Identical to Pandemonium War/Exile Mountains layout with their respective final bosses, whoever was picked through the weekly rotation cannot be accessed until the "Faced Memory of Truth" pickup is obtained to unlock their dungeon area.
A Hard Mode would be implemented during the September 2024 Season 8, Act.05: The Hunt Begins patch, now featuring tougher Boss Monsters with newly adjusted patterns and more rewards obtained upon clearing.
Memory Effects
There are only four Memory effects available throughtout the entire run for Curtains of Mu, being randomly assigned per playthrough on each Named Boss Monster. Some can be optionally skipped over, while others are mandatory to successfully clear the content entirely.
Elemental Harmony Energy Orbs
After any of the four Named Boss Monsters is defeated, they'll leave behind an Elemental Orb of Energy that can be absorbed by one player each, or be optionally left alone that grants various effects when pressing the TAB key only once per run.
Sacred Beast Assistance
Before entering The World of Rumination, there are Five Sacred Beast allies that Camilla has to offer, except only one of three can be chosen when starting a run. Each Beast has their own individual abilities that helps out not just during boss fights, but even during the final encounter depending on its weekly rotation and who was picked. Sacred Beasts are also capable of evolving up to three times through accumulating experience after defeating bosses.
The final Boss can also recover a portion of their HP based on the level of the selected Sacred Beast, yet a fully maxed one will stop their HP recovery entirely.
