Nex of Righteousness
Contents
Description
Beings born from Sirocco's energy that was left behind her when she came back to life.
They've been named after the Pillars of Righteousness and Mercy, the two shafts of the pentacle that supports to the Abysmal Sky Tower.
They preside over life and death in the nonexistent space of Sirocco's mind, Nex over death and Vita over life.
They rule the boundary between the Sky Tower and the Gateways of Immateriality, blocking adventurers' path.
Lore
Lore Excerpt:
I am life, born and blooming out of the Abyss.
I am death, despairing and drowning in the Abyss.
We are in this intangible space, presiding over life and death.
We are also the ruler of the space.
We are one, and yet permanently separated
for we are of the same origin, but as disparate as light and darkness.
Anyone who wants to reach the intangible sky must choose before our scales of life and death.
Those who wander through intangibility shall be cursed to live
and wander this world of the eternal abyss.
Those who dare try to reach the sky shall be sentenced to death.
A fitting end for desperate and miserable wretches like you.
And you all shall forget arrogance and agonize in the face of the life and death.

Move Set
- Descent of Death: Identical to Vita's Descent of Mercy, when party members enter the boss room, they will have Silent status inflicted on them, including a HP/MP drain until they go near Nex's Sword, thus awakening him. Upon doing this, all players are teleported back to the right end as Nex generates a path that shows red circle tiles. The main goal for clearing this pattern is to carefully cross the path and reach his aura before a timer gauge shown below completely fills up.
- Unlike Vita's path, Nex's variation differs where those tiles can move up and down, there is also a slight chance that he'll attempt to attack from behind, plus going out of bounds results to being teleported back to the start.
- If the party successfully clears the path pattern, Nex materializes and they can begin his boss fight, failing to cross the has him create damage dealing tiles on the floor.
- Sword Slash: Nex deals a close range basic attack with sword in a wide arc.
- Dark Bombardment: Just like Vita, Nex can fire out volleys of dark spheres throughout the map leaving an encroached section where those spheres landed, the only difference is that he'll follow up by spreading out the explosions. To prevent being damaged or lower the explosion amount, use Bullet Time whenever he begins performing this pattern.
- Dark Chains: By targeting a random player, Nex can generate Dark Chains that are able to capture players in a y-axis range. If they are caught by those chains, Nex telports over to slash at them.
- Continuous Rapid Slash: Nex charges forth in a front line by rapidly slashing with his sword, inflicting heavy damage on contact.
- Blade Boomerang: Nex can throw his sword like a Boomerang in a y-axis range going from top to bottom where the red lines spawn, he also follow up with an attack if the sword hits and captures a player in chains.
- I will cut you all up!: Like Vita's I have no more Mercy for you Dark Chains spawn randomly across the map that immobilizes a player if they step onto one, numerous red circles spawn into a path where Nex follows it while performing Continuous Rapid Slash until he reaches the right end, then he'll knock down party members to finish them with a room-wide spinning blade. Use Quick Rebound as soon as possible to avoid the attack as it's damage is fatal enough to easily kill party members or cause a potential party wipe.
- Berserk
- Guide of Righteousness: Functioning very similarly to Alexandra's Golden Arrows from Prey-Isys Raid or Soryun's Falling Stars in The Oculus, Nex gets into the map's middle section as he bombards party members repeately with Dark Spheres and a timer gauge below slowly filling. In order to make Nex enter his groggy state, players who has a white circle beneath them must hit Nex with the oncoming light sphere in a total of four times, clearing the pattern upon succession.
- If the gauge fills completely, Next performs a party wipe upon failing to meet those requirements.
Strategy
- Vita and Nex are quite identical in terms of wielding high HP, defenses and strong attack patterns. However, Nex is often considered to be much dangerous between the two due to of his patterns being more fatal than Vita's.
- For Descent of Death:
- Classes with fast movement speed such as Rogue for example, she is capable of clearing Nex's path.
- For Guide of Righteousness:
- When Nex begins his bombardment in the middle, all players should keep their distance away from each other around a corner as the spheres he fires out can also hit teammates and potentially cause casualties.
- You can use a bit of Bullet Time to slow down the light sphere's landing before it drops if you or any party member has a circle underneath them.
- If The Castle of Phantasm / Phantasm of the Castle is cleared a certain amount of times by Yellow/Green parties, Red/Orange parties can receive a massive damage boost against the Gate of Immateriality Duo.
- Depending on the strength of Orange parties when fighting Nex, most often opt to ignore Castles and burst him down after clearing Descent of Mercy first, so have Crusader/Enchantress to deploy their Apocalypse/ Final Judgment, Crux of Victoria/ Laus di Angelus, Marionette/ Curtain Call and use your strongest skills.

Trivia
- Nex is the Latin word for Death.
- A damage-specific Sirocco Epic Set is themed after him.
- Both Nex & Vita's boss fight and design inspiration plays out very similarly to Maplestory's Black Mage Phase 1 when he summons his two Knights, The Aeonian Rise (White) and Tanadian Ruin (Dark).
