Lore

Prey-Isys Raid Lore:

There was a being in the deepest part of the sky above Tayberrs. He created constellations as he moved across the glowing golden sky, showing everyone under the sky where they should go. Those who could fly flew along the paths created by his constellations. Those who could swim looked up the sky as they traveled by sea. It was all thanks to this being that no one on Tayberrs had to worry about getting lost. Everyone was grateful for this gentle, considerate guide, and they called him Zodiac, the Star Guardian.

But when it rained purple on Tayberrs and the sky became too dark to see, Zodiac disappeared. And he didn't show up again after the purple rain stopped. The constellations disappeared along with the glowing golden paths that they created together. The sky and the seas started shaking violently. People started getting lost, and some of them even lost their lives. Everyone desperately looked for Zodiac, but he never appeared. Tayberrs's order had collapsed. Everyone stayed where they were, too afraid of going too far.

After a long time, Zodiac reappeared all of a sudden. But he was no longer the gentle, kindhearted guardian he once was. His corrupt energy darkened the sky that once glowed golden, and swallowed and tainted everything that it touched, making them drip with the same evil energy. Tayberrs had spiraled into chaos that it never knew before, and Zodiac continued to create the dark constellations. Not for everyone, but for only one being: Prey-Isys.

Move Set

  • Starlight Crystals: Zodiac's main pattern. Upon entering the boss room, there are a total of 7 crystals that float around with one of them glowing which means it's vulnerable to damage. In order to make Zodiac groggy, his pattern will play out like Universe Pulverizer: Crusher's Eyeball Drones in which three of the glowing Starlights need to be destroyed. If successful, Zodiac will enter his groggy phase for 20 seconds.
  • Rush: The crystals can rush down in a short distance.
  • Slow Down: The crystals can create a circle beneath them inflicts Slow Down (Status).png Slow (Status) on players who are inside of it, then does a explosion afterwards.
  • Simultaneous Explosion: All the crystals including Starlight quickly locate around each other and creates AoE explosions.
  • Beam Link: Similar to Creator's Link.png Link, there are beams that are generated between each of three crystals and a targeted player. While the player will not receive any damage from it, party members who come into contact with the beam will take heavy damage through multiple hits.
  • Revolution: Similar to Female Mechanic's Frisbee.png Frisbee, Zodiac randomly targets a player and three crystals will quickly revolve around them. Like with Beam Link, the targeted player is generally safe -- the real danger is to other players, who can be hit by the crystals and take damage.
  • Self-Destruct: When a glowing Starlight's HP is depleted, it'll explode on a circle that pulls in players and inflicts potentially lethal damage.
  • Berserk
    • Starlit Sanctum: If the timer gauge bar below fills, all Starlight Crystals start to take their positions and shoot out a beam that connects each other in a straight line, repeating this in a total of five times. At the same time, small circles are created everywhere that deals low damage and Slow Down (Status).png Slow (Status) around them. Afterwards, those crystals will resume their normal patterns, yet the number of crystals that were destroyed does not reset.

Strategy

  • Zodiac is perhaps one of the easier Sanctum bosses, but do be cautious of the Crystals' attack patterns.
  • If you or another party member is targeted by either Beam Link or Revolution, stay far away from them until the pattern is over and to prevent unnecessary damage. The same can go for Self-Destruct whenever that specific Starlight is destroyed.
  • Once Zodiac is groggy, have the Crusader/Enchantress deploy their Apocalypse (Male Crusader).png Apocalypse/Crux of Victoria.png Crux of Victoria/Marionette (Enchantress).png Marionette and kill him before the patterns start up again.
