Verdant Frekses is a resident of Tayberrs and Guardian to the Ancient Temple of Purification. Just like Apostle Isys-Prey, he too possesses a twin persona by the name of Red Leg Arketo.

History

With the search for Isys's Egg under way in Nighttime Skyscraper, The Adventurer accompanied by Blossom, Alexandra and Arthur comes across the Omega Guardian next to an injured Frekses who is wrapped in roots. After Omega Guardian is defeated, Alexandra asks him many questions about what's going on and he responses by using a feather of memory to recall how he got to Pandemonium.

After explaining what happened on Tayberrs, Blossoms heals Frekses's injuries and offers his help in return by purging Isys's egg that's spreading his corrupt energy so that Prey can absorb it. He did find the egg awhile ago, but was unable to retrieve it due to Isys's followers getting in the way of a human that was trying to break the egg ran off to the Skyscraper's center.

While Kate, Niu, Pai and Arthur are fighting off Isys' followers, Frekses senses his energy as the Adventurer finds the egg that's being guarded by Heat Researcher Zadracon and defeats him. Then they hear a loud scream and follows it to find Blossom and Arthur on the ground unconscious, saying that Alexandra followed Frekses. As the Adventurer makes their way up to the Skyscraper's center, they find Alexandra on the ground injured with her wings damaged next to Arketo who reveals the truth by switching back to Frekses, remarking that waiting any longer is a waste of time as he leaves to await Isys' resurrection.

During Kate and Arthur's conversation, it's implied that Frekses had already succumbed to Arketo's influence and planned to sacrifice both Blossom and Alexandra just to bring back Isys, confirming his betrayal to the group.

• Verdant is derived from the Old French word for green, vert, which in turn is from Latin virēre, meaning "to be green", befitting Frekses's appearance.
• His name which is spelt, Praxis originate from Ancient Greek words.
  • Praxis was most likely renamed to Frekses intentionally to avoid confusion with the Specialist's buff skill, Core Praxis.
