Lore
Character Biography:
Male/Age 30.
A Berserker and former wandering mercenary; he is one of the seven founders of the Grim Seekers. In the past, during the Screaming Cavern Incident, he ventured together with other adventurers toward the Screaming Cavern, where he embraced the spirit of Sirocco.
Afterwards, he witnessed the Prophecy of the Apocalypse from Sirocco's memory, and was drawn to six other individuals, and together they established the Grim Seeker organization.
After its establishment, he took upon the role of Dark Side branch leader, managing the sanctum of Dark Side, where the Apostles Ozma and Michael appeared in the past.
However, when Azalea Lott was killed, he accepted a mission at the request of Prophet Ezra, and headed deep into the Land of Memories.
In the aftermath of the Screaming Cavern Incident, his Ghost Arm turned grey, earning him the moniker 'The Grey', but recently, for some reason, his Ghost Arm has become more red than anything else.
Despite his intimidating appearance, he is said to have a gentle personality, watching over those around him and caring for the weak. Perhaps this is the reason why so many followers were saddened when he was given his mission and departed.
Lore Excerpt:
When he followed the mysterious force and met with the other six for the first time, he felt as if he finally had become whole. Despite their gender, age, and other differences, the seven of them felt as if they'd been known each other for a long time. Without even saying a word, they knew that they were the Chosen.
Following Prophet Ezra's advice, Rosenberg quit being a wandering mercenary. He'd never stayed in one place before, and these people who welcomed him into their midst were his family now.
After the news of Azalea's death and the massive storm that had hit Arad, the Prophet finally informed Rosenberg that it was time for him to carry out his mission. He accepted it as calmly as he accepted the energy that flew from the Screaming Cavern and entered him. He picked up his favorite weapon and headed out to Los Chest before everyone else.
History
As an Enemy (Normal)
Rosenberg makes his debut inside of Black Shrine as both a Named & Boss monster in either his Normal or Kazan-Possessed form.
Move Set
- Blood Pool: Whenever Rosenberg performs any of his attacks, he'll create a large blood pool on the floor each time this occurs. Although stepping on the pools will not cause any damage, it's actually prepared for his variation of Extreme Overkill.
- Debris Stomp: If a player is in his front direction, Rosenberg will stomp the ground with his foot to cause a shockwave that goes forward rupturing the floor.
- Hammer Swing: Rosenberg at close range delivers three slow, yet powerful hammer swings that deals heavy damage which can also cause hitstun and knockback.
- Pulverize: Rosenberg targets and attempts to rush at a player - if caught into his rush, he'll lift them up and smashes them into the ground in total of three times.
- Hammer Strike: Rosenberg will lift up his hammer to strike the ground twice.
- Outrage Break: Functioning similarly to the skill, Rosenberg hops over to the center as he hammers the ground going from the right to left sides creating bloody debris.
- Berserk
- Extreme Overkill: During the start of his fight, Rosenberg will summon a incomplete blood sword at the top center of the room, however his version of Berserker's 1st Awakening functions differently from how the player uses it. If there are a total of four Blood Pools from his attacks, he'll knock down players as the blood sword above absorbs those pools to create a room-wide explosion. Then he will create another one and repeat the process. Use Quick Rebound once he performs this.
As an Enemy (Kazan-Possessed)
- Kazan-Possessed Rosenberg is the result of using his body as a vessel to summon Kazan of Destruction. He'll generally be the end boss for Black Shrine's first half and Secret Chamber, then as a Named encounter during the second half.
Move Set
- Axe and Sword Slash: Kazan's spirit moves slightly forward while slashes diagonally in front with each of his weapons, dealing massive damage and knocking back enemies. The hitbox for this attack is rather large, covering a large area in-front and small area in the back. During this attack, Kazan is hold-immune. This attack ignores Super Armor (Status).
- Ground Slam: Kazan raises both weapons and prepares to slam the ground. During this time, the room will turn red. Immediately after Kazan will strike the ground, releasing a ring-like shockwave. Kazan's sprite model is included as a hitbox for this attack.
- Ground Rupture: Kazan dashes to either the left or right side of the room, dealing damage to enemies in his path, and raises his weapons. The affected area in front will turn red. Immediately after, he will slam the ground, creating a shockwave that knocks players into the air, and lifts his weapons upward, creating ground ruptures to the area in front, dealing massive damage.
- Diagonal Slash: After not being hit for a period of time, Kazan will teleport to random location in the room and will prepare an attack. Meanwhile, a red aura will appear on a player he's targeting. As the aura grows full, Kazan dashes diagonally toward the targeted player's current location and slashes anything along the way while releasing ground ruptures as he travels that deal damage and bleed nearby targets. He will repeat this pattern 3-4 times, and follow it with Ground Rupture.
- Berserk
- "Death will Free You": Kazan will teleport to the center of the room and begin channeling an attack. At the same time, four blood weapons will appear at every corner of the screen and release a ring-like shockwave, which can be avoided by jumping or using invincibility skill as the rings intersect near Kazan's location. Immediately after, Kazan will teleport around the room, stalling for time as he channels his attack. Attacking him during this phase will stun him for a brief period. After the channel is complete, the weapons will spin toward the player in the order of top left, top right, bottom left, and bottom right, dealing damage to all enemies in their path. If Kazan is hit by the weapons, he will enter his groggy state for 15 seconds, and have significantly lower defenses during the duration.
- If Kazan survives his groggy state, he will become enraged, and release a blood pool beneath him. The blood pool will deal damage over time to enemies inside.

Strategy
- Both of Rosenberg's forms tend to possess slow, yet telegraphed attack patterns that can be easily dodged, but are quite powerful at close range during their respective boss fights.
- Stay away from Kazan's Axe and Sword Slash when he prepares to attack as this is capable of cancelling out certain skills you're casting.
