Quests
To Empress Skardi
Level | 75 |
---|---|
Quest Giver | Vaughn Walshuted |
Prerequisite | Gizel's Whereabouts |
Briefing |
Vaughn: Adventurer, now that the war situation in Empyrean is sorted out, what are you going to do? Us? We'll have to stay for a while, to help the country restore things to order. We're allies now. As an adventurer, there's nothing much you can do when it comes to restoration work. Why don't you go back down to Arad? You're close to the Empress of the Principality. She must be worried about us. She'll be happy to hear that everything went well. Also, I don't want her to misunderstand my country's intentions. I understand the Principality doesn't like my country, but this still upsets me. So put in a good word with us for us. Thanks. |
Objectives | Go to the Hendon Myre City Hall and relay what happened in Empyrean to Skardi. |
Upon Completion |
Skardi: Empyrean and the Empire have formed an alliance. It was expected, but still it's not good news to the Principality. But they haven't made any noticeable movement together yet. Right? Then we don't have to worry about them yet. Thank you for sharing such useful information with me. Now, could you tell me about your adventure? I'm interested in Empyrean myself. I'd love to know more about it. |

A Story of Adventures in Empyrean
Level | 75 |
---|---|
Quest Giver | Skardi |
Briefing |
Skardi: ...Just hearing about the country makes my heart beat faster. I'd love to visit it and experience its culture and scenery one day. Have you heard? Adventurers who returned before you spread the news of Empyrean, and now travelers and adventurers are flocking to Hendon Myre and West Coast. While some of them want to contact Empyrean for political and economic reasons, most of them just want to see the country above the skies. Why don't you tell the stories of your exploits to them? They would love that. |
Objectives | Enter the Moonlight Tavern in the Back Alley. |
Upon Completion |
Zanbato Aganzo: Mm. I wondered who it was. I've heard adventurers returned from Empyrean. I thought you'd be one of them. Have a seat. Yes. I'm as curious about Empyrean as the next man, but I've been busy. For what? Sorry, it's personal. Come to think of it, Siran is looking for you. If you're not busy, why don't you go to him? Go to Shonan, the capital city of Suju and look for his student, Woo. Siran gets around, so he might not be there to see you, but his student will. This is my letter of recommendation. Show it to Woo.

Notes | The player can now enter the City of Shonan and the Suju Arena. |

Quest Giver | Kargon |
Briefing |
Kargon: Did you come to use the Magatha again? You'll have to wait for a few days. It's fully booked because of tourists and Imperial supply transporters. Shonan? Ah, you mean the capital city of Suju? The Magatha to that place is empty. Why? It's broken. That's what happens when you manhandle Magathas. No one handles them as carefully as I do. You'll have to wait for a long time if you want to use it. I don't have any repair materials. I'm good at fixing Magathas, but I can't do anything without materials. Can I fix it right away if I have the materials? Of course. I'm Kargon, the best Magatha technician there is. If you've got time to question me, go get those materials. |
Objectives | Collect the materials to repair the Magatha, and deliver them to Kargon.
|
Upon Completion |
Kargon: Huh. I wondered where all the materials went, and they were in your pockets. Okay, I'll take these instead of your fare. All right, it's time to fix my Magatha. It breaks my heart when she gets sick. I love you, Magatha. I don't need a woman-I have you! |

Objectives Go to the City of Shonan and show Aganzo's introduction letter to Royal Messenger Woo.
- Meet Woo: 0/1
Upon Completion Woo: Yes, I'm Woo, Siran's student. How may I help you? Aganzo sent you to me? Oh, he even wrote a letter of recommendation for you. Whatever this is about, it must be important. May I see his letter? ...Yes, I can tell this letter is written by Aganzo himself. I'm sorry, but my master is not here. I don't know when he'll be back. He's never around. Maybe I should hire a few Kunoichis to tail him.
Siran: What are you talking about, girl? I took you under my wing, and that's how you're going to repay me, huh?
Woo: Oh, you came back earlier than I thought this time. You are only five days late from the date you promised. Her Majesty will be surprised.
Siran: Okay, okay, I'm sorry. Do you want me to grovel? Geez. I've raised a lion cub. Err? What are you doing here? Aganzo sent you. Hah hah, I didn't know he could be useful sometimes. Welcome. I wanted to see you. Let's go over there and talk.

Let's Save the World
Level | 75 |
---|---|
Quest Giver | Siran |
Briefing |
Siran You've traveled to enough places to know that this world is full of crazies, yeah? There are lots of things that drive people crazy. Swords, treasures, love, revenge, just to name a few. And those that are plain crazy are the worst kind. Don't laugh. I'm not joking. I know a guy who's hell-bent on destroying this world, just for the fun of it. I've been following him everywhere he goes, and it's taking all up my time and effort. I've been looking for a reliable ally, and I thought you were perfect. Say, how'd you like to join forces with me for the world's peace? Does he have something do with the Apostles? I don't know yet, but this guy I'm chasing is as dangerous as any Apostle. Come to me if you're interested. I can wait as long as you want me to. |
Objectives | Go to Siran when you are ready to embark on an adventure with him. |
Upon Completion |
Siran: Hah hah, I knew you'd agree to help me. Yes, I do have an eye for people. Don't tell anyone else what we just talked about for now: we don't know who's friend or foe. |

Let's Have a Drink
Level | 75 |
---|---|
Quest Giver | Siran |
Briefing |
Siran: Arad wasn't a good place to live to begin with, but things were never as bad as they are now. Seriously, I think it's going to the dogs. Strange monsters emerge on a daily basis. Wars break out, one after another. People lose their minds to some evil influence. Plagues are killing people everywhere. It's like a living hell! Why are things so bad? Tell me. That's right-the Metastasis! The Metastasis has ruined Arad. I must have talked too much. My throat is dry. Have you seen Suju Court Messenger Woo down there? She's keeping a few bottles of excellent tasting liquor for me. Bring me a bottle, and we'll talk over a drink. |
Objectives | Pick up Siran's wine from Royal Messenger Woo. |
Upon Completion |
Woo: Is the Master drinking again? In broad daylight? |

Worried Student
Level | 75 |
---|---|
Quest Giver | Woo |
Briefing |
Woo: Ah, you're the adventurer whom the Master thinks so highly of. I haven't seen him so happy and excited in many years, and that must have to do with meeting someone who really understands him. If Aganzo trusts you, then so can I. Here's a bottle of liquor that the Master has had me keep for him. Don't let him drink too much, though. He's a bad drunk. |
Objectives | Deliver Woo's Ginseng Wine to Siran.
|
Upon Completion |
Siran: Whoa, what's this? Did the lass really give you this expensive liquor? What have I done to deserve this? Hah hah! Come on, pour me a glass! |

Illusion of Time
Level | 75 |

Quest Giver | Siran |
Briefing |
Siran: I have a story that I've never told anyone else before. Living with a secret is harder than I thought. It's been a great weight on my mind. Hm, where should I begin? Well, I think it's better you see it for yourself. Brace yourself and tell me again when you're ready. |
Objectives | Talk to Siran when you are ready to listen to his story. |
Upon Completion |
Siran: Are you ready? |

Powerful Metastasis Energy
Level | 75 |
---|---|
Quest Giver | Siran |
Briefing |
If the Player is not one of the Children of Time.
Siran: How was your journey? Since it was your first time, I let you only sample what it would be like. Do you feel sick in the stomach? Don't worry. It goes away after a few times. I know what you're thinking: "Did this guy cast magic on me?" "Did he put something in my drink?" But that strange scene you've just witnessed is an actual event I experienced in the past. Since the Screaming Cavern incident, I've developed the ability to open up the Time Gate. And through the Time Gate, I was able to experience past events firsthand. At first, I just watched. After the hundredth time, I've noticed a common denominator. I believe it's even connected to all the strange occurrences that are currently taking place in Arad. I didn't tell this to anyone until I found an adventurer whom I could trust. And that's you. By the way, something happened to the Time Gate a while ago, and now it's not working right. It let me go anywhere I wanted, but now I can only revisit places. I think I need powerful Metastasis energy to fix the gate. The easiest things we could find that have the Metastasis energy in them are Cubes. If the Player is one of the Children of Time.

Objectives | Bring the following materials to Siran.

Upon Completion |
Siran: You've brought them all. Good job. Let me try again with these. |

Opening the Time Gate

Quest Giver | Siran |
Dungeon | Time Gate (Dungeon) |
Briefing |
If the Player is not one of the Children of Time.
Siran: It worked right away. I didn't think it'd open so easily. I wonder if there's some outside influence or intervention... Ah, doesn't matter, so long as we can use the Time Gate to experience past events. Can you see the Time Gate next to me now? On the other side of the gate is a whole new world. Brace yourself and enter it. For now, I want you to check the time slots that are available to access through the Time Gate, and then come back. There are not many time slots available, at least in the beginning, because of those disruptive Time Lords. If the Player is one of the Children of Time.
|
Objectives | Enter a time slot that is accessible through the Time Gate. Report to Siran. (To access the Time Gate dungeon, enter the Time Gate created next to Siran.) |
Dungeon Dialogue |
Upon encountering the Boss: Past Baston: You've disrupted the course of time. You can't be forgiven. Upon defeating the Boss: Past Baston: I'm leaving for now, but I'll be watching you... |
Upon Completion |
If the Player is not one of the Children of Time.
Siran: There was a monster wearing a lion mask. The error in the Time Gate must have warped spacetime on the other side of it, and that instantly attracted the Time Lords. Now that you drove them away, they won't dare come back for a while, but that's not going to last forever. Be careful. If the Player is one of the Children of Time.

Quest Giver | Siran |
Dungeon | Fairy Forest |
Briefing |
Siran: This may be surprising, but the Time Gate allows you to take even the most insignificant things like grass and twigs. And whatever you take with you won't affect the past or the present. Is that hard to understand? Just think of it as a portion of history suspended in time on the other side of the Time Gate. Why am I insisting on a dangerous adventure through the Time Gate? I'm not suicidal, and I'm not enjoying dragging you along with me. Do you remember what I said the other day? All the time slots I visited had a common denominator, a person. I'm convinced she has something to do with the Metastasis. We need to look for her in the time slots we are about to venture into. Why we can only travel to certain time slots is beyond me. If I knew that, I wouldn't be here pleading with you, would I? We have to do this to find out who's responsible for the Metastasis and remedy the situation. Of course, we might have to face a new threat in those unstable time slots. But the glory of victory we'll be rewarded with at the end is worth the trouble. Now, it's time to embark on the greatest adventure of history! Let's move to the most accessible time slot and start looking for her. |
Objectives | Clear the Fairy Forest with Siran. |
Upon Completion |
If the Player is not an Elven Knight.
Siran: We didn't find traces of the suspect this time, but I know we will eventually. Whew, retaining the Time Gate and going on a search with you is really wearing me out. I'd better focus on keeping the gate open, or I won't be able to do that for long. I'll leave the search to you. If the Player is an Elven Knight.

Siran: The available time slot at this moment is Grand Flores before the Great Fire. It was peaceful back then. This is great. We should be able to find some good clues since most Fairies would be still alive. Let's just hope that we're back to the time before the Great Fire. |

Quest Giver | Fairy Girl |
Briefing |
Fairy Girl: Heh, adventurer from the Future, are you teasing me because I've never gone outside my forest? At least you're as interesting as I thought you were. This doesn't make sense, though: this Grand Flores is protected by the Great Pentacles to keep intruders away. My intuition is never wrong, and I can't shake off this sense of dread. Adventurer from the Future, I can feel some evil force is casting a shadow over Grand Flores. What do you think it is? I'm scared... |
Objectives | Relay the fairy girl's story to Siran. |

Siran: Anyway, if she's telling the truth, the disaster is about to happen. I'm talking about the Great Fire. But then again, it might not, given the warping in time and space. |

They used to be a bunch of small-time criminals, and suddenly they've grown big enough to take over the entire district. Is that guy Enzo Sipo such a good leader? To me, he looks like just a common gunslinger. I believe he's backed by another, bigger organization that wants to grow the Kartel for some reason. Um, wait... Maybe she has something to do with it. A woman clad in black hood sneaked up on me. I thought she wanted to kill me, jealous of my genius, you know. I was wrong. Instead, she wanted to recruit me into her organization. She said I should quit the Seven Shards and take the scientific adviser position with her organization. It wasn't worth even listening, so I declined. Whatever experiment was conducted there, it resulted in this mineral that creates powerful weapons and armor. Oh, right--you said you're looking for some suspicious people, right? Remember that young goblin named Toby? He said he saw some suspicious person hovering around the forest near the testing ground. Iris's Hiding Place
Level | 80 |
---|---|
Quest Giver | Iris's Note |
Briefing | Iris's Note: "Surprisingly, the hair the adventurer brought to me was mine that I used a long time ago. It was cast with the spell I used for the Concerto of Dominance. Judging by the structure of the spell, I believe it was cast on Mist Executive Kane, who was found dead in the Screaming Cavern. The hair was enchanted, but there's no way it could retain the spell for decades. That adventurer was hiding something from me. I followed him and saw him meeting with Siran. I always thought Siran was inept in magic, but he proved me wrong by casting a complicated interdimensional teleport spell right before my eyes. The interdimensional gate he created was more sophisticated and refined than mine, and also more stable. It won't be easy, but I may be able to use magic to pass through the gate without alerting him." |

Objectives | Enter the Iris's Epiphany dungeon with Seria Kirmin. |
Dungeon Dialogue | Upon entering the second room: Seria Kirmin: "Oh, no. Iris... I can't believe this... Iris is affected by an evil curse. No, wait. It's not a curse. It's more like potent mana. It's so strong, she can't control herself." Siran: "Are you saying everything she's done so far was not of her own accord? Can you do something about it?" Seria Kirmin: "I'm not confident, but I can try. Huff, huff...H-how's Iris?" Iris: "Ugh..." |
Upon Completion | Iris: "Do you...forgive me? Sigh, I'm still confused. I've lost my purpose in a matter of a day. I feel so free... Hilder's dark fog that used to cloud my mind has dissipated. Now I can understand the seriousness of my transgression. I don't know how I can pay for all the bad things I've done..."
Seria Kirmin: "Stay alive and stay with us. That's how. I don't think everything you've done was a lie. Those smiles you showed me sometimes... I don't think Hilder made you do that. Iris, you're not an evil person. We believe in you, Iris. Stay with us." Siran: "She's right. What you did cannot be undone, but you make up for it by saving more people than those you hurt. You know Hilder better than anyone else. We need your help should a war break out. So don't be so hard on yourself, all right?" Iris: "Aww...Everyone..." |

What to Do Now
Level | 80 |
---|---|
Quest Giver | Siran |
Briefing | Siran: "I explained what happened to Iris to the others. Some understand, but some don't, and there's nothing I can do about that. What Iris did cannot be easily forgiven, even if she did it under evil influence. But previously, she did a lot of good things for Arad. She'll have to pay for what she did by helping people from now on. It'll be tough, but it's what she wants. By the way, you did great. I wouldn't have done this without you. It was Hilder who traveled across time, causing harm wherever she went. It also was that apostle who controlled Iris like her puppet. This has decided our next move. Let's go to Pandemonium. I don't know how, but perhaps Iris does. Go talk to her and see how she's doing." |
Objectives | Find Iris and ask her about Pandemonium. |
Upon Completion | Iris: "Ah, Adventurer, you want to go to Pandemonium, where my old master, Hilder, is... But I can't follow you. I was only able to open the interdimensional rifts because Hilder lent me her power. Now that I'm freed from her grasp, thanks to you and Seria, I cannot use such tremendous power. But it's not completely impossible to get to Pandemonium. In Empyrean, it's been said that Bakal came along a path that connected Empyrean and Pandemonium. Soon the path will reopen again, and I can see the dangers that lurk along the path clearly, but not where it's led to. I know you want to stop Hilder from threatening Arad, Empyrean, and even Pandemonium, but you're my savior. I don't want you to go along such a dark, dangerous path. ...I understand it's what you really want. Then I suggest you at least wait until those who can help you are ready. I'll let you know when they are. May the marrelete bless you." |
