Vaughn Walshuted: "Ah, this adventurer and I are on it. Hah hah."

Vaughn Walshuted: "What am I talking about? Remember that I told you about Bakal's pentacle in the sky and how it was interfering with us reaching Empyrean? It won't stop anyone coming down from Empyrean, but it creates a lot of resistance for those who want to go up. And the Magatha can't fly through that resistance. I tested it out while you were away. The pentacle can only be removed by Bakal himself, or a lot of time will have to pass for it to naturally deteriorate. Since Bakal is dead and we can't wait, we have to find another way. We thought maybe we could use his power left in his creations. We want to use the horns of Skasa and Spirazzi to break through that pentacle. But the dark elves, who sealed away Spirazzi, wouldn't give up its horns. The Empress of the Principality asked them, but even a request from an ally won't change their minds. But maybe yours can. The dark elves are stubborn, but it'll be hard for them to deny the request if it comes from the very hero who saved their kingdom."

Marlene Kitzka: "Please. Empyrean is in dire need of help. We have to go up there and put an end to the war as soon as possible."

Vaughn Walshuted: "Yes, please. I have to get this done, or the Emperor won't be happy with me. Take pity on me, will you? I'll ask Bwanga for Skasa's horns myself. Then, good luck."

Vaughn Walshuted: "I'm Vaughn Walshuted, knight of the De Los Empire. I came here to help your country under the command of my emperor. Not all of us are soldiers. There are some adventurers among us as well. Empyrean and Arad haven't interfaced for a long time, but we came as soon as we could to help you in this difficult time."

Zeldine: "Oh, I'm sorry that I misunderstood you. I don't know what to say. But first, please come this way."

Upon Completion Zeldine: "Thank you for coming. Ghent needs all the help it can get. I'm Zeldine Schneider, commander of the Ghent Garrison. I'm sure you were excited to see the new world, but as you can see, Empyrean is under attack by the Kartels. I apologize that we can't be a good host at this moment."

Marlene Kitzka: "I learned how to drive the Magatha and brought you here because this capital city of Empyrean is facing one of the greatest challenges it's ever had. The Kartel, a gang of criminals based in the western Lawless District, is waging war against all of Empyrean. More people are getting robbed and murdered every day. Worse still, the ruler of Empyrean, Princess Erje has been taken hostage by them. Soon, the history of Empyrean may come to an end."

Vaughn Walshuted: "Don't worry. We're not the only soldiers from the Empire. Now that the route to Empyrean is secured, our country will send more soldiers to help you. Also, you can rely on the adventurers of Arad--especially this one."

Zeldine: "Is this Arsonist Bentinck? Adventurer, did you apprehend him with Varracht? You did. Varracht, this, no matter how impressive it is, doesn't change the fact that you disobeyed my orders."

Varracht: "Screw you. I'm not your foot soldier. I'm free to do whatever I want. I can't get out of here anytime, no matter how many spies you have to follow me. People were losing homes while you, the commander of the city guard, were caught up in mind games with the Kartels, so I took matters into my own hands. How dare you yell at me? So I disobeyed your orders? You're new in your position and yet you already like the power that comes with it. If you know how serious this situation is, then stop worrying about nobodies like me and do your job. And learn some humility while you're at it."

Zeldine: "Hmpf, I thank you for your cooperation, but I'm still the commander here. If you want to stay in Ghent, then you'd better follow my orders."

Varracht: "Does this mean you're going to do your job? Fine. I'll have to see it to believe it, though."

Zeldine: "Watch your mouth, old man! ...Oh, Adventurer. I'm sorry. I'll throw Bentinck in prison right away. Thank you. Do you mean that infuriating geezer? He's called Sandstorm Varracht, a famous gunslinger from the Lawless District in the west. He sneaked into Ghent some time ago. My distrust of him isn't because he's from the Lawless District. It's because he's one of the early members of [the] Kartel. He said he left it because it changed. I don't think he's changed since he left it, though. Adventurer, please be careful with him. I'm only letting him stay because I can't find a reason to kick him out, but I know, once we start losing, he'll give the Kartels our heads on a platter. Well, it's true we're losing at this moment, but still be careful. There's someone I'd like to introduce you to. Please come with me."

Upon Completion Upon talking to Richter:

Melvin Richter: "*Yawn* Hey, don't stand there. You're blocking the sun. I was enjoying a nap for the first time in a long while."

Zeldine: "You're always napping. Anyway, Doctor, this is the adventurer who arrived with the Imperial Army. You said you needed someone strong enough to do things alone, right?"

Melvin Richter: "Did I? I think I said I needed someone smart enough to go in and out of enemy territory by himself. Anyway, you're saying this adventurer is good, right? Then let's get started. Zeldine asked me to decipher some code, and from that code I've found our the Kartels are plotting something interesting. They're trying to bombard this place."

Zeldine: "What? Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

Melvin Richter: "I'm telling you now. Anyway, they're going to do it the really old-fashioned way. They'll have some signalmen send the target coordinates and bombard the location. So stupid. I think it's about time they show up. Some of the enemies that arrive at the east gate are the signalmen. You'd better get rid of them if you don't want to get blown up."

Zeldine: "Melvin, you need to tell us something important like this as soon as possible! We need preparation--"

Melvin Richter: "What did you expect? You had me work on a lot of things, and then dumped that code on me on top of that."

Zeldine: "Aww, but we don't have enough manpower--bah, I don't have time for this. Adventurer, let's go."

Upon talking to Zeldine:
Zeldine: "Melvin was right: a group of Kartels are coming to the east gate. If Melvin didn't tell us when he did, we could've been in trouble. Now, let's counter their attack. Adventurer, we in the Empyrean Army will keep them distracted. Could you get rid of their signalmen? I'll tell you how to recognize them. They're hiding among their comrades. Take a careful look at them."

Vaughn Walshuted: "You should thank Deputy Master Kruger, not me. By the way, what are you going to do now? We took out the enemy commander, but the war still isn't over."

Zeldine: "During this operation, we've discovered another enemy base, in the depths of the gorge. If we wipe it out, the scales will be tipped in our favor."

Vaughn Walshuted: "Then like we just did, we should let a small group of elite warriors confuse the enemy first, and then rest of us will swoop in."

Zeldine: "Do you think the same strategy will work twice in a row?"

Vaughn Walshuted: "It's the only way to reach the back of the gorge, where the enemy's hiding, with minimal damage. Look at the way this place is shaped. Sending our army in there is suicidal. The enemies in there must have not heard what happened to the others, or they would've sent out reinforcements. The gorge is a good place to hide, but a bad place to keep tabs on the outside world."
