Adventurer? I've heard a lot about you. I'm sorry if I offended you when we first met at the Redolent Pavilion.
|
I can tell you have many questions for me. I'd love to answer them, but for now, I have to focus on rebuilding the Palace. Maybe next time.

(Post-Empyrean Civil War)
The war is over, but the storm in the Sea of Storms isn't. Just because it's not a problem right now doesn't mean it will stay that way.
Some people might try to use it as an excuse to further isolate Wespeace, but I'm not going to let them. Empyrean won't make that grave mistake again.

(Post-Empyrean Civil War)
You must be curious about how things are in Northpiece. I remember reading books with my parents as a child, and I cherish those memories. Since I joined the Seven Shards, though, I've spent most of my time cooped up in the lab, so there aren't many things I can tell you about...
Ah, there is one thing. The Jurgens had trees planted along their mansion walls, and they bore white blossoms with moon-shaped petals. When it was windy, the petals would lift and scatter in the wind like snowflakes.
It really was a sight to behold.

(Post-Empyrean Civil War)
Have you checked the Philasia? Do you have everything you need? Let me know if you want anything else.
My first mission as a Shard was to modify the airship to match your needs, and I'd like to help you with her for as long as I can. So, feel free to talk to me anytime.

(Post-Empyrean Civil War)
I like looking at the scenery of Ghent. It's changed a lot since Her Majesty ascended the throne, but some places here and there are still the same.
Finally, peace has returned. I'm going to do my best to protect it, so I'll have something to tell Michelle Curio when she comes back one day.

Is this for me? May I ask why-
Ah, never mind. Thank you for your kindness.
|
Huh? Th-this is for me?
Wh-what? Me, flustered? Absolutely not. I'm a Rossum. *Ahem*
|
No, thank you. You should give this to someone else who needs it more than I.
Erm, you're looking at me as if... Thank you for the gift.

I've never been ashamed of my family, but I used to feel resentful toward them. They let me learn what I wanted, but didn't approve my making good use of my knowledge.
I couldn't renounce my family, but I've been trying very hard to break out of being a noble.
"I'm not a noble; I'm just a Rossum. I'm not just a woman; I'm also a scientist." This was my mantra when I was cooped up inside the Northpiece lab, researching and writing reports all day.
If you have noticed any awkwardness in the way I talk, then it's probably because of that.
|
Edwin said he and I are good friends. Mm... Yes. Maybe he's the only one I can call my friend.
I actually didn't like him at first. Everyone in Northpiece heard the rumor that the youngest and most favorite son of the Jurgen would become the next leader of his house.
But the Edwin I met outside his mansion on that day... I knew that look in his eyes and could tell he was dreaming of something he shouldn't...
Huh? N-no, I don't have feelings for him! That's absurd, Adventurer! I'm just...
I-if you just came here to make fun of me, then I don't want you here. I've got things to do. P-please leave!
|
When I was young, I wanted to see the real Empyrean. Not the one the nobles spoke of while wining and dining, but the one that existed on the other side of the sea and the people who lived there.
Now... I want to see the vast outside world, the one down below the ocean from which you came from.
I have a feeling I'll get to do that soon.
|
My wrist? Ah, it's not injured. I use it to write so much that sometimes it aches, so I just cut a string off my jacket and tied it around my wrist for support.
... Why are you looking at me like that? You're not thinking I'm not dressed appropriately for a noblewoman, are you?
I'm a scholar who lives to study. I also cut off my skirt and the sleeves of this jacket because I didn't want to be encumbered by them as I write and study.

You don't have to bring me a gift whenever you see me. Just seeing you is a great gift to me.
I-I mean it! It seems you never believe me.
|
Ah, I've been waiting for you, Adventurer. I have some very interesting research results to share-
Huh? I-I wasn't waiting for your gift. Absolutely not. I'm a Rossum!
|
You're giving me things again... Huh? M-my face is red? No, it's not!

Even I don't know where Michelle Curio is right now. The last thing she said before she left was, "There's something I must find to protect what I have."
Before she left, she gave me the most of her research materials that she had as a Shard. Her materials helped me grow as a scholar significantly.
When she comes back, I'll probably have to give up my place in the Seven Shards. She's a successor of a Meister and I'm not.
But... I think I should be able to achieve my dream without the title of a Shard. So, even if I have to leave... I should be okay.
I-I may not be okay with not being able to see you often, though. Mm...

The drawing sheet container? Ah, you mean what I have on my back. It may appear to be an ordinary drawing sheet container, but it actually is a portable computer.
I can't show it to you, even if you're the Adventurer. What it has inside is...
The schematics. Herman's schematics that the former Coast Guard Captain Hiram Klauf left behind.
Only Her Majesty and a few others know that I have them. I'm telling you this because I want you to know why I can't show what's inside this container.
Thank you, Adventurer. I'll promise you this: the technology inside the container will not be used to hurt the innocent or disrupt the order of the world.
|
What do I like? Mm... Thick sweetcakes. Oh, and jawbreakers. You know, those colorful candies sold at the marketplace. I like the red ones most. They're the sweetest and-
Wh-why are you laughing? You asked me what I like.
S-stop laughing! What's wrong with liking sweetcakes and jawbreakers? Go check the marketplace. Everyone, children and grownups alike, loves them.
You're making fun of me right now, aren't you? I may be a bookworm, but I'm not completely naive! If you're just going to keep laughing, then go!
I-I didn't say you could come near me! Adventurer, you're such a tease!

Mother has never even mentioned marriage to me. She'd always ask me about the books I was reading or what I wanted to do.
Father was the same. He only wanted me to be happy and healthy, that's all.
And the first thing that they wanted me to do was stay in Northpiece. That's why I couldn't leave.
I could decide to be selfish and leave, but I couldn't do that to my parents. They've only wanted what was best for me.
I wonder how they're doing. I'd better write them a letter before bed tonight.

Finally, you're here. I-I wasn't waiting for you, though.
